Kent:
In addition to the Social Studies Framework I sent, teachers are required to
teach Arkansas History.
The grade at which AR History is taught varies from district to district.
However, if you find it necessary, I believe the following AR History
standards align closely with your De Soto program and with pre- and post
activities related to your program.

Subject: MVEP needs help with frameworks for de Soto
Steve,
Can you help me sort out what frameworks would be met/used in doing our de
Soto program for 5th to 8th grade students during school days we will be
performing at Rich Mtn College in October 16-18, 2003?
We really need to be able to tell the teachers of the classes coming what
frameworks the program will be covering.
You have seen our de Soto program in the distant past, but we are including
reasons for the Spanish to come, techology, impacts on locals and future
expeditions, effects of disease, Spanish observations of the Mississippian
culture.
If you know of any prepared lesson plans for deSoto as well to send ahead to
the teachers, I would appreciate the help.
Thanks!
