April 5, 1999 On April 1, 1999, the Teachers of Arkansas Studies Council hosted a resource fair in Harrisburg, Arkansas. MVEP presented the lunch program at the event on six Arkansas characters from 1542 to 1994 with an April fools' twist. The relationship between Arkansans and hogs was explored through first person presentations on the de Soto expdedition, French colonials, Union and confederate Civil War soldiers, a U.S. World War 2 draftee from Arkansas, and a Razorback fanatic of 1994. Photos of Kent as a WW2 draftee. Packing a duffel bag. TASC is a wonderful organization promoting the teaching of Arkansas history and we are proud to be a small part of their program this year.
